Shepard Forman


Biography

Shepard Forman is an anthropologist and ethnographer who conducted a study of Makassae speaking communities in Matebian Mountain range in Timor-Leste 1973-74 with his young family in tow. Distinguished Fellow at New York University’s Center on International Cooperation (CIC) as well as Director Emeritus. Prior, he also directed the Human Rights and Governance and International Affairs programs at the Ford Foundation, where he also was responsible for developing and implementing the Foundation’s grant making activities in Eastern Europe.
